Wij willen hem niet kwijt, maar we weten dat aan hem wordt getrokken door andere bedrijven. Kunnen we hem een hoger salaris aanbieden?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ja, dat kan. Het is niet verboden om de ene medewerker een hoger salaris te geven dan een andere. Wat verboden is, is om iemand een hoger of lager salaris te geven vanwege zijn geaardheid, geslacht of godsdienst. Onderscheid maken op grond van leeftijd, politieke voorkeur, een parttime of fulltime dienstverband of een vast of tijdelijk dienstverband mag ook niet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gelijke arbeid moet, in gelijke gevallen, gelijk worden beloond. Dat is het uitgangspunt. Maar dat betekent ook dat gelijke arbeid in ongelijke gevallen, ongelijk mag worden beloond. Met andere woorden; als twee medewerkers hetzelfde werk doen, maar de ene presteert veel beter dan de andere, of de ene heeft bijvoorbeeld meer werkervaring dan de andere, dan is het gerechtvaardigd om beide werknemers verschillend te belonen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het is wel belangrijk om ruimte te maken in het salarisgebouw voor het extra belonen van medewerkers die het goed doen. Je zou ook kunnen denken aan het invoeren van een bonussysteem of van een provisieregeling. Door kenbare en objectieve criteria te hanteren voor een extra beloning, beperk je het gevoel van willekeur bij de medewerkers die geen extra beloning krijgen.
