Dit wordt ook wel het operationaliseren of cascaderen van doelstellingen en beleid genoemd. Vervolgens wordt de voortgang gevolgd en kan indien noodzakelijk worden bijgestuurd. Deze bijsturing kan op ieder niveau binnen de organisatie plaatsvinden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Voordelen van Performance Management<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Performance Management heeft een aantal voordelen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>De te behalen doelen en resultaten worden voor iedereen duidelijk. Zowel op afdelings- als werknemersniveau. Door op ieder niveau concrete afspraken te maken, de voortgang te bewaken en eventueel bij te sturen, wordt daadwerkelijk een bijdrage geleverd aan de realisatie van de organisatiedoelen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Het vergroot de betrokkenheid van werknemers. Betrokkenheid wordt positief be\u00efnvloed wanneer werknemers weten wat de plannen zijn, actief worden betrokken bij de uitvoering ervan en de ruimte krijgen om zichzelf te ontwikkelen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Doelen en plannen moeten op alle niveaus worden gedeeld. Eventuele hiaten of inconsequenties worden hierdoor zichtbaar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Het vergroot de sturingsmogelijkheden van werknemers. Door in samenspraak doelen en resultaten te bepalen krijgen werknemers meer invloed op hun werkzaamheden. Door tussentijdse feedback krijgen werknemers beter inzicht in hun eigen functioneren en kunnen ze zelf eventueel bijsturen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Het biedt de gelegenheid om werknemers binnen de strategie en mogelijkheden van de organisatie te ontwikkelen. Wanneer werknemers hun eigen ontwikkelwensen en ambities bespreken met hun leidinggevende biedt dat de ruimte om, binnen kaders, daarover afspraken te maken. De inzetbaarheid en weerbaarheid (employability) van werknemers vergroot daarmee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Nadelen van Performance Management<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>De systematiek heeft als belangrijkste nadeel dat de implementatie veel tijd kan kosten. Het breed delen van de organisatiestrategie en doelen kan, zeker in de beginfase, een forse investering in tijd vragen. Datzelfde geldt voor de doorvertaling van deze strategie en doelen naar de lagere niveaus binnen de organisatie. Het vraagt mogelijk een andere manier van werken en denken binnen de organisatie. Om het proces soepel te laten verlopen, kan het noodzakelijk zijn workshops voor leidinggevenden en werknemers te organiseren waarin nut, noodzaak en hun eigen rol wordt toegelicht en zij tevens worden toegerust voor het vervullen van deze rol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Verder vereist Performance Management discipline. Discipline in het formuleren van doelstellingen en resultaten. En discipline in het volgen van de voortgang en het vervolgens eventueel bijsturen van processen en werknemers. Deze nadelen wegen echter niet op tegen de voordelen.
