style=\"flex-basis:70%\">\n<p class=\"\">Federal contractors will soon be required to agree not to engage in any&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/ending-illegal-discrimination-and-restoring-merit-based-opportunity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&#8220;racially discriminatory&#8221; DEI activities<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">President Trump issued a new&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2026\/03\/addressing-dei-discrimination-by-federal-contractors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive order<\/a>&nbsp;(EO) directing federal agencies to include this clause within 30 days of the March 26 EO in all contracts, subcontracts and contract-like instruments (such as purchase agreements).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Contractors that fail to comply may see their contracts terminated or suspended and may be blocked from any federal contracts in the future.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The EO defines&nbsp;<em>racially discriminatory DEI activities&nbsp;<\/em>to mean disparate treatment based on race or ethnicity in recruiting, hiring, promotion, contracting, program participation or allocation of resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">This directive builds on several other&nbsp;executive orders&nbsp;targeting &#8220;illegal DEI&nbsp;and DEIA policies,&#8221; as well as guidance from the&nbsp;Department of Justice&nbsp;and the&nbsp;Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Trump said the order is necessary to avoid the &#8220;inefficiencies, waste, and abuse&#8221; caused by DEI activities that increase workforce turnover, reduce the pool of available labor and jeopardize employee collaboration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column lnrs-hide-block-on-mobile is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"
