Labor&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2024\/04\/26\/2024-08038\/defining-and-delimiting-the-exemptions-for-executive-administrative-professional-outside-sales-and\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2024 overtime rule<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">All three key components of the 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brightmine.com\/us\/resources\/hr-news\/new-overtime-rule-2024-minimum-overtime-exemption\/\">overtime rule<\/a> are now blocked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-brightmine-list-item-spacing-small\">\n<li class=\"\">The increase in the minimum weekly salary for most overtime-exempt employees to $844 that took effect July 1, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The increase in the minimum weekly salary for most overtime-exempt employees to $1,128 that was supposed to take effect January 1, 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">The automatic inflation adjustments that were supposed to take effect starting July 1, 2027, and every three years thereafter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The minimum salary now returns to $684 \u2014 as it was before the rule took effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The DOL may ask the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals for an expedited appeal. But it is unlikely that the incoming Trump administration would continue to pursue such an appeal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column lnrs-hide-block-on-mobile is-layout-flow
