Exceptions are allowed for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-brightmine-list-item-spacing-small\">\n<li class=\"\">Noncompete clauses contained in a contract for purchasing or selling a business;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Noncompete agreements that provide for the protection of trade secrets;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Contractual provisions that allow for the recovery from an employee of relocation, education and training expenses; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Noncompete clauses that apply to executive and management personnel and the officers and employees who make up the professional staff of executive and management personnel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The law also specifically provides that noncompete clauses that restrict the right of a physician to practice medicine upon the termination of the physician&#8217;s employment, partnership or corporate affiliation are void. It further clarifies that physicians may disclose their continuing practice of medicine and new professional contact information to any patient with a rare disorder who the physician had been treating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The provisions apply to contracts entered into on and after July 1, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Wyoming joins California, Minnesota, North Dakota and Oklahoma in generally barring noncompete agreements with employees. Other states impose an array of <a href=\"https:\/\/hrcenter.us.brightmine.com\/fifty-state-charts\/noncompete-laws-by-state\/25386\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">laws restricting the use of noncompete agreements<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column lnrs-hide-block-on-mobile is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"border-left-color:var(--wp--preset--color--secondary-gray);border-left-width:2px;padding-left:10px;flex-basis:30%\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-global-padding is-layout-constrained
