Effective legal compliance in HR begins with the first step in the employment life cycle: recruiting and hiring. HR practitioners who do not consider their legal obligations until after the first day of employment risk, creating significant liability exposure for their organization. There are numerous hazards in recruiting and hiring of which HR must be aware, such as drafting compliant job postings and advertisements consistent with new pay transparency laws, asking appropriate questions in interviews, accounting for new regulations of AI in recruiting, and making compliant offers for employment.

    Vincent C. Cirilli

    Vincent C. Cirilli’s practice focuses on complex commercial and employment litigation, with a particular emphasis on representing management in a variety of employment-related disputes involving claims under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act, the New York Human Rights Laws, and Title VII.

    Vince also provides labor and employment counseling and has conducted several internal investigations for higher education institutions and government agencies. Vincent has appeared before the federal and state courts of New Jersey and New York in significant legal disputes, including several suits alleging discriminatory and retaliatory employment practices against a major health services provider.

    Prior to entering private practice, Vincent was a Judicial Law Clerk for The Hon. Michael A. Guadagno, J.A.D., in the Appellate Division, West Long Branch, NJ.
