The challenge

Democratizing HR resources and knowledge for a 100-person HR team

Linda Gregory wanted an HR and employment law resource that supported her needs as an industrial relations manager. She was also eager to provide her entire HR department access to reliable and up-to-date guidance they could utilise in their roles and to support the conversations they were having with staff.

The HR team is approximately 100 members strong with a variety of specialised roles. It includes generalists, employee relations specialists and reward specialists, as well as legal consultants and health and safety professionals.

Linda’s challenge was to give all of these colleagues access to the resources they wanted and needed without exceeding the budget. A subscriber since 2008, the Accenture HR team had six licences to the BrightmineTM HR & Compliance Centre, formerly XpertHR tools and resources. Though team members loved using the HR & Compliance Centre, not everyone had access.

At Accenture’s last renewal, Brightmine introduced the new team licence structure for the HR & Compliance Centre to Linda. This would help her get maximum value from the service, as well as provide access to the full range of leading practices and legal compliance support to her entire department.

The results

The Brightmine team licence provides unrestricted access to the HR & Compliance Centre for Linda’s entire team. With the team licence, all of her colleagues can benefit from the full range of leading practices and legal compliance support available.

Feedback has been extremely positive, especially from HR staff that work from home or are often out of the office. Access to the HR & Compliance Centre “means they are able to access the information they need from anywhere, which is much more versatile than having to refer to hard copies or research different resources,” says Linda.

Linda was able to demonstrate the value this would offer to the business and how it would allow for a consistent resource to be embedded in the organisation.

Several of her junior team members have also benefitted from being able to use the service for their studies and CIPD qualifications, as well as their work.

“It’s a one-stop shop for all the HR resources we need,” says Linda, “and I am delighted with the team licence. It’s more cost effective and easier to administrate. I wouldn’t be without it.”
